Does zMAX really work in your engine?
It bears noting that zMAX does not replace the oils and fluids, it is solely an additive that assists in preventing internal wear. Due to the flexibility of anti-wear additives such as zMax, these products also work in diesel and small-engine applications, as well as turbochargers.
What does zMAX do?
In a class its own, zMAX is not an additive, but a micro-lubricant that uses the fluids in your vehicle to get to internal parts where it soaks into metal to disperse harmful carbon build-up. Other products change the viscosity of the oil. zMAX doesn’t need to do that. It works all on its own.
How do you use zMAX fuel formula?
Instructions for use: Pour zMAX Fuel Formula (12oz.) in the fuel system with at least 1/2 tank of gas or diesel fuel. Pour zMAX Engine Formula (12oz.) into your crankcase.

Is z max oil treatment worth the cost?
Still, having read up on engine oil treatments, I concluded that Z Max at worst would be a waste of $17-$18 dollars and at best, might actually provide some additional protection for my “like new” baby.
