Is the Bronx Zoo free for students?
Free General Admission to New York City undergraduate college students. Eligible students must be: attending an NYC college (must show a valid college ID from an institution within the 5 boroughs of New York City; NYC resident, attending non-NYC college (must show valid college ID and proof of NYC residency).

Are Wednesdays free at the Bronx Zoo?
Is there a day when admission is free? Limited admission is free all day on Wednesdays at the Bronx Zoo. ADVANCE TIMED TICKETS ARE REQUIRED. The Wednesday Ticket Store will open on Monday at 5:00pm for that Wednesday’s reservations.

Why do zoos have to build so many buildings?
Zoos have maintenance buildings, and they need to scatter these between animal exhibits, for the well-being of the animals. Some animals need private areas to relax away from the public.
Can you take a stroller into the zoo?
They should NOT let them bring strollers inside the exhibits as it really clogs the exhibits up! 4- pay for the extra price exhibits- like butterfly house, goriila exhibit & the safari tram on free days as they will be less crowded. The free crowd uses these parts of the zoo less.
How do I get to the Asia entrance to the zoo?
As you walk down the stair from the elevated platform you will now be on Boston Rd. Walk north on Boston Rd and in 2-3 blocks (5-6 minutes) you will arrive at the Asia entrance to the zoo. As you walk along Boston rd you will know that you are headed in the right direction because you will past by East 178th, 179th, & 180th streets.
